Free next-gen update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X on December 14th, 2022! pic.twitter.com/NcDLmV72kb — The Witcher (@witchergame) November 23, 2022 CD Projekt Red has revealed that the next-generation update will include a new Photo Mode and enhanced camera angles. AMD FSR 2 and NVIDIA DLSS support have been added to the graphics engine. The game will support new Ultra+ graphical settings with ray tracing and global illumination, as well as various quality-of-life improvements. Also, with the DualSense controller’s haptic feedback and adjustable triggers, PS5 players of The Witcher 3 will “feel” the action as they smash enemies with swords and cast spells. Additionally, a brand-new special mode will let players cast signs while holding down L2 rather than having to constantly go to the radial menu. The addition of a photo option for PC will allow gamers to capture in-game moments and share them with the community. The studio has announced that a photo mode competition would be held in the future.  The PC version will also feature a new camera mode that brings you even closer to Geralt. When exploring, combat, or riding Roach, players can switch between multiple camera angles. Additional graphical enhancements for the PC version of The Witcher 3 include ray tracing, ambient occlusion, and “ultra-plus” settings that allow for greater differentiation between foreground and background characters and environments. The Performance and Quality options coming to PS5, and Xbox Series X/S will give gamers the option to emphasize either performance or quality. Raytracing, ambient occlusion, and other graphical enhancements will also be available to players of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The Series S, with its weaker hardware, will miss out on these features but will still have 30fps and 60fps options. Existing owners of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC will be able to download the free next-gen update when it launches on December 14.
