Several classic PlayStation games were found to be the 50Hz PAL versions, which ran less smoothly than the NTSC 60hz versions used in the US and other countries when the new PlayStation Plus was released in Europe this summer. For games, the difference between the PAL and NTSC refresh rates means that the PAL version will typically be played at a slower speed. The region can be changed via the in-game settings quite easily. However, a user on Resetera warns that your progress in either game will not be carried over to the NTSC version if you are already playing it. While just a select few games have received this treatment so far, it’s important to know that Sony intends to make this available for a far larger library of PlayStation Plus classics in the future. Unfortunately, there is no definite schedule for when this feature will be implemented, so you’ll just have to keep waiting if you’re hoping your favourite game will benefit from it.
